Brainstorming: Non-conformity & Trends

I have decided to do my theme on Non-conformity and binding it with trends. The acne and body positivity movement has been very prevalent on my social media, especially on Instagram. This topic hits home, as when I first started to deal with skin issues, I felt alone, ugly and miserable. It seemed like no one around me was going through what I have been going through and still am.

Every single day, I would wear a full face of foundation, lock it in with hairspray (pretty sure hairspray is dangerous for your face), and hope that none of that makeup slides of by the end of the day because I was extremely insecure and terrified If anyone saw that tiny pimple or my PIH (post-inflammatory pigmentation).
I feel passionate to explore how social media influencers are exposing their insecurities and making it into something beautiful. I am grateful to them for changing my view on what is beautiful and acceptable - Being Human should always be acceptable.
However, the fashion/beauty world plays a big role as they are the main trend setters, and it's only now that they are only considering different standards of beauty due to the capitalization of these movements. I would like to explore that more in depth in the upcoming weeks.  My exploration will go beyond acne and into the broad world of anti-conformism.
